  • two more writing announcements

I made it to page 100 of my script today, so I'm a Script Frenzy winner. I wrote almost half the pages in the last three days, whee. Still nowhere near the end of the screenplay, and now I'm rethinking the story in various ways, but more on that later.

Today's public service announcement is this Online Auction to Benefit Diabetes Research. It's ( Read more... )

First, a public service announcement for querying writers: I recently came across this useful LJ community called agentturnaround. It's a database created by users (mostly anonymously) of how long it took to get responses from agents. What a good idea ( Read more... )

  • a beautiful day for a rejection

    lunacow Apr 11, 2008 19:47

I'm not going to be giving a play-by-play of my agent search here, but it has begun, and today I marked an important milestone: I received my first rejection letter! Hooray, I'm a real author on the road to publication!

My Script Frenzy screenplay is coming along nicely. I'm up to page 40, which is great in terms of the 100-page goal for the ( Read more... )

  • edit done, time to Frenzy

    lunacow Mar 29, 2008 15:18

March has been a busy month for me. When not entertaining visitors, my main preoccupation has been editing The Overworld. I'm pleased to announce that I've completed another edit of the manuscript. Yay ( Read more... )

  • Script Frenzy, here I come!

    lunacow May 02, 2007 21:36

I am unreasonably excited that the Script Frenzy site has finally launched. Script Frenzy is the new writing challenge from the people who brought the world NaNoWriMo: write a 20,000-word (~120 pages, ~2 hours) screenplay or stage play in the month of June. A week ago, I had all but decided that I wasn't going to do Script Frenzy (it really needs ( Read more... )

  • nonemployment is almost here!

    lunacow Mar 01, 2006 11:09

I gave myself the month of February off from writing. I thought that with the free time when I'd usually be working on my novels, I'd make some LJ posts about my novels, but that didn't end up happening. This is my final week of work, so starting next week, I'll have lots of time for both writing and meta-writing. ( Notes on writing and work )

  • thank you!

    lunacow Feb 09, 2006 00:29

Thanks so much to everyone who volunteered to beta test Falling Apart! I'm overwhelmed by the response. I don't need any additional readers right now, since I want to preserve some willing fresh perspectives for later versions. So, for that matter, also thanks to everyone who didn't volunteer, for saving me from even more overwhelmedness.
